Overview
Ortega Elementary in East Austin is named in honor of Daniel F. Ortega, a World War II hero. The school’s namesake inspires students to achieve their highest potential through self-discipline and self-improvement. Working with families and community partners, Ortega fosters a culture of collaboration, which promotes children’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development. Ortega is proud to provide Pre-K, dual language and robust science,
technology, engineering and math programs. Ortega offers a world of educational opportunities - from arts and athletics to reading and robotics - to ensure all children reach their fullest potential. Ortega is part of the Eastside ECHS family of schools, which offers STEM programs at every grade level and is part of the district’s Creative Learning Initiative, which offers a quality arts-rich education to every child.
