Family Resource Center
Families are also welcome to visit the Martin Family Resource Center (FRC) at Martin Middle School. The FRC is a gathering place for families to connect with one another, to access resources, to explore ways to support their child and to engage in the community.
The services offered at the Martin FRC include:
- assistance with basic needs, such as food, housing, clothing, jobs and health care
- referrals to partner agencies, who can provide services to students and families
- ongoing support and case management for families
- classes and workshops for parents
The FRC staff includes a Director and a full-time social worker, as well as a social work intern from the University of Texas. The team is available to parents or guardians of not only Martin students, but also students from Martin's feeder elementary schools—including Ortega.
The Martin Family Resource center can be found at 1601 Haskell Street, Austin, TX 78702.
Mobility Blueprint is a web-based tool that allows families to find available housing within their school zone. Mobility Blueprint has partnered with Austin ISD to help families who need to move make an informed choice, find affordable housing and stay in their school attendance zone.
If you would like to volunteer at Ortega Elementary, please contact Melinda Zamora, our Parent Support Specialist at 512-414-3101.
We truly appreciate any time or service you are able to offer, and look forward to meeting you!
